Robert Wakeley: Guitar

Robert was the man who '......pushed the boundaries......'*
and '......everyone aspired to be like......'* back in the early days. And he still is.
From about 1961 he was in a band called Mal Ryder and the Spirits [Mal is now a big star in Italy] touring clubs and theatres in the UK. It was about this time that he and Larry recorded with Joe Meek who was recording the Tornados' hit 'Telstar' at the same time.
Later in the decade the Spirits did two six-month tours of Germany, including residences in Vilenhagen, Cologne, Frankfurt and Duisburg, playing six hours a night, five nights a week! Robert came home exhausted.
Fortunately, that was not to be the end of it.
